Mazda CX-8 will definitely debut in Malaysia this week in the 2019 Malaysia Auto Show, 11-14 April. It's just that, quoting from Paultan.org, the SUV is still in the introductory stage.
As previously reported, in Malaysia, the Mazda CX-8 comes in 4 variants. First, use the 2.200cc turbodiesel SkyActiv-D engine. The kitchen runway is powered by 188 hp and 450 Nm of torque is mated to the AWD (all-wheel drive) drive system.
While the remaining 3 variants rely on the heart of the naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder 4-cylinder SkyActiv-G gasoline. This configuration produces 192 hp of power with 257 Nm of torque and is channeled to the front wheels. The four variants are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
In appearance, the design is not much different from the Mazda CX9, only the dimensions are slightly smaller. In addition, the Mazda CX-8 is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, full-LED lighting, keyless-entry, and various driving assitance technologies, starting brake assist to hill launch assist.
The interior of the Mazda CX-8 has a 3-row seat configuration with a capacity of 7 passengers. The Japanese manufacturer also has an AC climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and an electric driver seat.
In Malaysia, the Mazda CX-8 is a CKD status or locally assembled. Later, this Malaysian-built car will be exported to various Asian countries, one of which is Indonesia. Interesting to wait.
