Jakarta-The presence of Hyundai Kona certainly completes the Hyundai SUV line-up which has previously been occupied by Tucson, Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport. Indonesian consumers will have a new choice of a modern compact SUV typical of urban jeeps.
Kona comes with a very aggressive body shape, proportional and has a dynamic silhouette. This Hyundai crossover has embedded a sophisticated headlamps, sleek DRL, cascading grille with sporty mesh pattern, wing-type fenders, LED taillights and black accents at the bottom of the body.
Enter the cabin, there is an 8 "AVN infotainment screen (Audio, Visual, Navigation) on the dashboard, Head-Up Display (HUD) and a typical Hyundai HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system. Hyundai Kona is a compact platform SUV that offers a different driving experience from its competitors.
Furthermore, Hyundai designers maximized the cabin space, offering split-folding rear seats fold flats with two-level loading floor. This configuration makes it possible to bring a bicycle or golf equipment into the trunk.
At least, in South Korea, this car has 4 engine choices namely the 2.0-liter MPI Akitson engine (146 hp), 1.6T-GDI Gamma (174 hp), 1.0T-GDI turbocharged (118 hp) and 1.6-liter diesel engine. The turbocharged MPI Akitson and 1.0T-GDI engines will be combined with a 6-speed matic transmission, while the Gamma engine will use a matic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT).
Of the four engine choices above, the most feasible to use is a source of 2.0-liter capacity. Kona will certainly compete in a wide range of classes ranging from Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Terios, Honda HR-V to Wuling Almaz and DFSK Glory 580.
