Review All-new Ford Escape 2020

DEARBORN - The fourth generation Ford Escape is no longer a box like the first and second generation. The exterior design of the Ford Escape 2020 is dynamically curved with a large hexagonal grille.

Ford will sell the Escape 2020 with a choice of EcoBoost gasoline engines, hybrid and plug-in hybrids. All EcoBoost engine options will be supported by an all-wheel drive system (AWD) and 8-speed automatic transmission.

The mechanical heart of the 2.0-liter EcoBoost ejects 250 hp and 373 Nm of torque with 93 octane gasoline. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h is 10% faster than the previous 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. Ford Escape Titanium will use this engine.

The next 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with 180 hp and 240 Nm of torque. The machine used by Escape S, SE and SEL is equipped with a cylinder deactivation (if the system considers 1 cylinder is not needed, it will 'disable it' automatically).

Escape plug-in hybrid can be purchased in SE Sport and Titanium variants. With only mileage electric power Escape plug-in hybrid can be around 50 kilometers. If the user fills the battery at a 240-volt Level 2 source then it only takes 3.5 hours, whereas at a 110-volt Level 1 source it can take 10-11 hours.

The hybrid version is capitalized with a 2.5-liter Atkinson engine. Overall (system) produces 198 hp power. The maximum speed with electricity is around 140 km / hr. Escape hybrids are found in variants of Titanium and SE Sport.

Escape is Ford's second best-selling car in the United States with sales of more than 4.5 million units since the first generation was launched in 2000. The achievement was still inferior to the Ford F-Series.

The hybrid escape emerged in 2004 as a 2005 model year. Escape hybrid sales between 2004 - 2012 exceeded 114,000 units.
